Volunteers’ Week 2021

The 1st-7th June 2021 is National Volunteers’ Week – a great time to shine the spotlight on the contribution that millions of people across the UK make to so many causes, events and businesses by volunteering.

We’re looking for volunteers to join the Octopus Ahoy! First Mate Crew to help out with the art trail this summer, launching on 25th June and sailing through to 5th September.

Our volunteers will be given an array of fun tasks – signposting visitors, sharing trail info, mascot handling and more! Volunteers are an important part of the event, adding to the sense of fun – what are you waiting for? Get “on board” today!

This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to get involved in a community project across Tendring. Volunteering looks great on any CV, no matter your career goals, and working as a volunteer is the perfect chance to develop communication skills whilst having fun. What better way to enjoy your summer than alongside giant painted octopus sculptures?

Once you have signed up to the programme, you will be given a training session by the team at KAT Marketing and your very own First Mate Crew t-shirt. Volunteer slots are four-hour stints (either 10am-2pm or 2-6pm) and you can do as few or as many slots as you wish across the summer.

Once the trail comes to an end and our 4ft octopus sculptures are sold at auction to raise money for Tendring-based charities, you will receive a certificate of involvement and a contact for references if you wish.

Don’t miss out on this ‘splashing’ chance to get stuck into a mass-appeal, community project and charity event. Sign up here today!
